Job Summary Material Specialist responsibilities include receipt of incoming material, ensuring proper storage conditions, proper shipment and transport of parts and coordinating with other departments to meet Millennium Space Systems production demands. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with inventory management software are essential for this role.
This position's internal job code is Shipping and Receiving Clerk B. Our team is currently hiring for Grade 14.
Responsibilities
Receive and inspect incoming shipments of materials according to packing lists and purchase orders.
Verify quantities, part numbers, and specifications against documentation and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Properly label and store received materials in designated inventory locations, ensuring proper handling and preservation.
Provide internal customer service and communicate with internal stake holders.
Maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities, including shipment logs, and tracking information.
Transport material/parts and equipment across all company facilities and storage locations.
Assist with all electronic inventory in accordance with ESD requirements.
Prepare outgoing shipments of finished goods, ensuring accuracy of orders, proper packaging, and adherence to shipping instructions and regulations (e.g., hazardous materials handling).
Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring timely shipment and delivery of products.
Maintain inventory in accordance with Millennium Space System best practices, which include FAR/DFAR, DCAA, and AS9100 requirements.
Operate standard shipping/receiving warehouse equipment such as forklifts, box trucks, vans, hand trucks and manual pallet jacks.
Maintain cleanliness of shipping and receiving work areas.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
Must be computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office.
Must have 1+ year(s) experience working with ERP/inventory management system.
Very strong accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills.
Comfortable speaking to teams outside of the Shipping and Receiving department.
Capability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
Dangerous Goods shipping and handling certified. Both IATA and CFR49.
Experience in shipping, receiving and transport in the aerospace industry.

Summary Pay-Range
Grade 14: $21.15/hr - $31.09/hr
