Job Summary
As a Senior Production Engineer you will be responsible for developing, qualifying, and implementing manufacturing processes and procedures to build, test and launch satellites, related subsystems, and components.
This position’s internal job code is Manufacturing Engineer. Our team is currently hiring for a Level 3.
Responsibilities
Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements: researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing, methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors
Reviews designs for manufacturability and production scalability
Collaborate with stakeholders to create and maintain work instructions, bills of materials, standard operating procedures, etc. in support of manufacturing and supply chain execution
Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout
Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes
Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements
Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
Leads and executes tasks as needed to transition hardware build from low-rate initial production to higher rate production
Resolves technical problems of significant impact to performance, cost or schedule
Coordinates and implements new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts
Leads advanced design solutions and supports research of new product or business opportunities
Provides guidance, training, and mentorship to junior team members
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline (ABET accreditation required)
3+ years’ experience in wire harness and/or electromechanical manufacturing engineering in Aerospace, Automotive, or Commercial industries.
Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting wire harness and/or electromechanical engineering drawings, technical manuals and policies and recommend changes to procedures.
Experience working with avionics wire harnessing
Good understanding of IPC 620, NAS-STD-8739.4
Must have technical problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis complete with sound engineering based corrective actions.
Knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles and concepts
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in an Engineering discipline (ABET accreditation required) Thorough understanding of root cause analysis and related analytical methodology (Five Whys, Fishbone/Ishikawa Analysis, 8D, etc.) Understands and utilizes theories, principles, and practices of engineering and project management methods Aerospace and/or DOD Experience Capital project management experience Background in Lean Manufacturing/Process Improvement.

Summary Pay-Range
Level 3: $96,050 - $141,250
