Join our small, close knit engineering team developing advanced space missions as a Electro-Optical Payload Systems Engineer. Millennium Space Systems designs and develops small satellites and other unique space systems. The Payload Systems Engineer works on space systems mission & system design trades, analysis, and support in synthesizing systems requirements and designs for Electro-Optical payloads on Millennium spacecraft. The Payload Systems Engineer works under the direction of a Program Manager, Chief Engineer, and/or Senior Systems Engineer. Our Payload Systems Engineers are involved with developing requirements, design, analysis, and development through system integration, and into flight operations.
Performs space systems mission & system design trades, analysis, and support in synthesizing systems requirements and designs.
Manages Electro-Optical payload design, analysis, manufacture, integration, test & operations.
Ensures timely and cost effective accomplishment of contractual commitments and/or established programmatic goals and is responsible for assigned technical performance during system development.
Supports program technical planning & direction, risk management, interface development & coordination, margin management & allocations, configuration management, and overall space system verification.
5-8 years of directly related experience in designing, building, integrating, and test Electro-Optical payloads.
Strong understanding of all aspects of Electro-Optical payload design, manufacture and test to include thermal, mechanical, electrical, optical, and overall functional performance.
Able to develop clear, complete and verifiable interface and performance requirements for complex Electr-Optical payloads.
Able to supervise the technical aspects of procurement and/or manufacture of Electro-Optical payloads and their piece-part components
Able to manage the integration of Electro-Optical payloads into Millennium spacecraft.
Able to manage the test and verification of Electro-Optical payload interface and performance requirements.
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Science discipline; Master's degree or higher is preferred.
Technical proficiency to perform space system design in multiple engineering disciplines and be able to work in a highly integrated small team environment.
Ability to develop and implement systems engineering processes and practice, including requirements analysis, functional analysis & allocation, system synthesis, risk management and configuration management processes.
Ability to work in a highly integrated small team environment.
