As a Millennium Space Systems' system administrator for classified systems, you will be working individually or with a small team to build, test, operate and maintain multiple classified systems and networks. A classified sysadmin must be able to manage both current systems and design and implement new systems or expansions to current systems and be open to supporting non-classified systems. This individual must be able to work autonomously and effectively communicate system and project statuses to management and provide end-users with instruction and training when necessary.
As a classified sysadmin, there are several tasks you will be responsible for on a daily, weekly, monthly, or recurring basis. These include but are not limited to:
System and Network Security
Design / install new / maintain / rebuild existing physical servers and virtual machines implemented via VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V running Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems
Design / install new / maintain / rebuild existing server applications
Supports the design / installation / maintenance / reconfiguration of network equipment and infrastructure
Design / install new / maintain information security controls
Develop and document procedures, guidelines, and techniques for the management and operation of system and networking hardware and software
Maintains current knowledge of system and network technologies and recommends improvements
Deploy, operate, and maintain for corporate and classified networks security tools and processes to support system hardening and analysis, endpoint protection, spam and malware protection, network and system intrusion detection and prevention, vulnerability scanning, patch management, asset management, security test and evaluation, assessment and authorization
5 years of directly related experience
Active Top Secret security clearance with recent SSBI
Certification(s) and experience commensurate with Information Assurance Techician Level II (IAT Level II) as specified by DoD 8570.01-M or the ability to be compliant within 6 months of employment
Experience in classified environments (DoD, SCI, SAP)
Working knowledge of the Risk Management Framework as provided by NIST Special Publication (SP) 800-37, controls provided in NIST SP 800-53, and assessments provided by NIST SP 800-53A and derived policies, such as the Intelligence Community Directive Number 503 (ICD-503) or the Joint Special Access Program (SAP) Implementation Guide (JSIG)
Working knowledge and experience with implementing security controls as part of industry standard system hardening or in accordance with customer or government requirements
Ability to communicate complex concepts with senior management, technical personnel, and external entities including senior representatives of the US Government and teammates
Experience with Windows operating systems such as Windows 7, 10, Windows Server 2008 R2, 2012 R2, and Microsoft Active Directory with regards to basic management such as managing computer and user accounts
Familiarity with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and other authentication / encryption frameworks
Familiarity with system assessment and authorization procedures
Microsoft certifications for Windows desktop and server operating systems
Cisco or other network certifications
Security+ or other security certifications
